We have completely rebuilt our Product Review solution, adding more of the features and flexibility Store Owners have been asking for. The product is a robust package that is now hosted on your web hosting account, so there are no ongoing hosting fees. The solution allows your users to review products while ultimately giving you, the store owner, full administrative capability to determine what is actually published. You can now choose to have reviews dynamically displayed on product pages via PHP and JavaScript with no manual intervention from you required. Alternatively, you can add the reviews directly to your store pages as static HTML using a CSV upload, where they will be seen by search engines as fresh content, without requiring any cutting and pasting of content. A simple Yes/No variable in your store's Variables page lets you switch back and forth if you want. After reviews are submitted, each review is then flagged as "pending" until the administrator either accepts or declines it. Upon reviewing pending reviews, the administrator also has full edit access to the review, providing the opportunity to correct spelling and other inaccuracies. In addition to being able to approve or decline reviews, the admin screen also provides you with the ability to search for reviews by a specific product ID number and/or pending, accepted or declined status. Upon accepting any combination of reviews, the Product Review solution will either generate a bar delimited CSV file for you to upload via the Yahoo Store Editor Database Upload feature, or be automatically added using a JavaScript on your store (depending on which option you choose). It's that simple. And since the reviews themselves are formatted completely with CSS, they can be easily customized to match the look and feel of any store. This option allows you to display the average rating of a product anywhere on the page in addition to the default location, directly above the reviews. Optional: Email Module
As an option, to help you get more reviews, this module sends an email to each customer after they order, requesting that they review the products they purchased. You write the email template and configure the number of days after each order to send the email. NOTE: This feature is designed for Yahoo! Merchant Solutions accounts. It requires a hosting account with PHP and MySQL. It can be installed on Legacy Stores if a 3rd-party hosting account is available, but additional fees may apply.
